The FDIBA at the Technical University of Sofia once again took part in a high-level international dialogue focused on innovation and technology transfer.
As part of a visit by a delegation of representatives from leading German family-owned companies to the National Center for Mechatronics and Clean Technologies, the faculty was presented by its Dean, Prof. Marin Marinov, as a well-established example of successful Bulgarian-German cooperation. He highlighted the faculty’s role as the longest-running initiative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) outside Germany, as well as its importance as a bridge between education, research, and industry.
The event, organized by the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce together with DIE FAMILIENUNTERNEHMER, brought together companies from key industrial sectors, including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, the chemical industry, and services. Participants were given the opportunity to explore the research infrastructure of the Technical University of Sofia and learn more about the potential for future joint projects with Bulgarian partners.
Particular emphasis was placed on the role of the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management as an active contributor to building sustainable links between academia and industry. Through its practice-oriented approach to education and its strong international partnerships, the faculty prepares highly qualified specialists capable of meeting the technological challenges of today’s rapidly evolving world.
The visit further demonstrates the growing interest of German businesses in Bulgaria and opens new opportunities for cooperation, knowledge exchange, and innovation development — with the active involvement of our faculty.
