The Cisco Academy at TU Sofia is led by the Dean of FDIBA. It was founded in 2002 and is the result of a training contract between FDIBA and Cisco Systems as well as the certification of Bulgarian teachers at the company “Nordmedia” with a branch in Hanover. The newly founded academy then built up a network of local academies, trained its own teachers and more than 1,400 course participants.
The awards received testify to the recognition of the quality of training at the Cisco Academy of the FDIBA at the TU – Sofia. In 2009, on the occasion of the celebration of “7 years of Cisco Network Academy in Bulgaria”, the diploma for the best Cisco Academy was awarded. In 2012, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the “Cisco Network Academy” in Bulgaria, the certificate “For active participation” was awarded.
Over the years, the graduates of the Cisco Academy of TU Sofia have proven that they are among the best prepared not only in Bulgaria but also in the world. They have won a number of awards in computer networking competitions. Among them, in 2007 Pavel Stefanov won the third place in the international competition in Košice, Slovakia and in 2008 he was the first in the international competition NetRiders. The third place in the NetRiders national competition in 2011 was academy graduate Radoslav Tsochev.
