The FDIBA continues to strengthen its role in the development of transnational education and international academic cooperation.
From April 13 to 15, 2026, the academic leadership and board members of the FDIBA at the Technical University of Sofia participated in the prestigious international DAAD conference held in Berlin. The event, titled “Responsibility and Perspectives: Comparing Strategies for Transnational Education,” took place in the historic building of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and brought together leading experts in the field.
During the conference, key topics related to the future of modern higher education were discussed:
Addressing the shortage of skilled professionals: The role of transnational programs as a bridge for the mobility of highly qualified specialists.
Technological innovation: Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitalization into academic curricula.
Intercultural competencies: Developing the skills necessary for success in a global environment.
As part of the forum, meetings were held with representatives of DAAD and FDIBA’s partner universities, including the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, TU Braunschweig, and FOM Essen. The discussions reaffirmed the strategic commitment to strengthening international cooperation and further advancing transnational education.
During the visit to Germany, an official working breakfast was also held with H.E. Grigor Porozhanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Germany, and Dr. Hristiyana Hristova, First Secretary for Higher Education.
The academic leadership of FDIBA expresses its sincere gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Berlin for the warm welcome and for supporting our efforts to educate the next generation of engineers and industrial leaders.
